MAJOR PRACTICE AREA AT FIRM
Ms. Nikita Xue has been practicing in legal field in China for over 15 years since 2001, starting to work at local notary public office in Guangzhou City, South China. Later in order to focus on IP area, she joined Rouse & Co. to explore more practice from a different angle. Her knowledge and experience towards legal rights acquisition and protection, intellectual property dispute solutions through both judicial procedure and administrative procedure has achieved profound development in the next ten years handling with hundreds of cases.
Nikita is experienced in handling with various kinds of disputed matters, including but not limited to trademark infringement, unfair competition, copyright infringement, anti-counterfeiting, and also contractual matters. Apart from contentious matters, she is also experienced in risk assessment on legal rights applications by providing the useful advice, and during the past years’ practice, she has helped applicants from all over the world to apply for more than one thousand pieces of registration applications. Comments from the clients that work with Nikita tell that she is responsive for all the inquiries at a timely manner and she would get herself involved as much as possible for each matter with her team colleagues to provide the best service for clients. With fluent communication capability in both Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English, Nikita is working with mainly the MNCs with various business industries.
Nikita has been a member of International Trademark Association (INTA) since 2006, and she is enthusiastic in contributing to this community by her effort. She is very proud to serve the Pro Bono Committee of INTA since 2012 for two consecutive terms (2012-2013, 2014-2015), to provide her knowledge and ability working to improve the public’s awareness towards the Pro Bono, to involve more attention and concerns from legal practitioners to serve and help others by Pro Bono, especially those in need but unaffordable for such legal service or lack of legal knowledge. On the other hand, Nikita is also willing to contribute her help to people qualified as Pro Bono, such as helping young people that suffered copyright infringement from giant companies. After the service at Pro Bono Committee, Nikita keeps devoting herself to serve the other Committee at INTA, and she later becomes a member of Law & Practice Sub-committee of Bulletin Committee at INTA from 2016 to 2017, and uses her own time to prepare and update those newly-issued laws and regulations relating to IP in China and also newly effective civil lawsuits that have significance to the industry.
