After completing his Master Degree in Glasgow, Neo came back to China and started work in a law firm with the main business based in brand protection and intellectual property rights. During this period, Neo had accumulated rich knowledge of brand protection practice and became increasingly proficient in the practical application of intellectual property business. In 2015, Neo joined HFL and engaged in the work of an intellectual property lawyer.
Neo deals with trademark-related legal and procedure issues, including drafting and filing for trademark refusal review, invalidation and non-use cancellation. He also deals with trademark infringement cases, mainly engaging himself in Administrative, Criminal and Civil lawsuits, filing complaints with Market Supervision Administration and Public Security Bureau at all levels for initiating law enforcement actions against counterfeiting manufacturers and infringing outlets, successfully impeding the infringements and recovering clients’ market losses, sending C&D Letters, evidence collection and notarization, which protect clients’ interests with adopting litigation and non-litigation methods.
Neo also provides advice for clients on brand protection area, including analyzing if there is a similarity between typefaces, working with Marketing, Sales and Public Relation Departments for a general plan.
